Hello again and welcome to the August edition of What’s Happening at YourPlace!
First up, I want to send a massive thank you to all of you who took the time to fill out and return the 2021 tenant survey.
We had responses from over 260 tenants and family members from across the YourPlace Housing portfolio, which is a fantastic result.
Congratulations also to the ten tenants who won the $50 vouchers – I hope you can put them to good use!
We now have the survey results – here are some of them:
- Generally, people who responded were satisfied (either fairly satisfied or very satisfied) with the services YourPlace provides (92%)
- Respondents were also satisfied with repairs and maintenance, and repair quality and the condition of their home (results ranged from 88% to 93%)
- While around 85 per cent of respondents were happy with the information we provide, fewer people (around 60%) felt that they could influence our decision making and that we listened to their views
- Importantly, a lot of tenants said they didn’t know much about our complaints and appeals processes.
We’ve put more detailed results in the News section of our website if you want to know more, along with some information on how we plan to work on some of the areas where we need to improve.

One area we’ve already started to work on is how to connect with you around new projects and developments. We are currently in conversations with the South Australian Housing Authority about a few redevelopment projects, and recently held a workshop with some tenants to get their feedback on some of our early housing designs. It was a great event, and we look forward to holding more of them as the project starts to take shape – watch this space!
In other news, we have had a bit of change around the office, with some new people joining us, and a couple of other staff moving on to new adventures. This has all been part of making sure that we are in the best place to deliver on our strategic plan. More information on changes to the tenancy services team.
