Question: Can YourPlace Housing take a photo or video recording of my home while attending to inspect the property?
Answer: Yes, but only under certain circumstances. Photos may be taken of damage or items that require maintenance. We will ask you to move any personal possessions out of the way to allow for photos to be taken for this purpose.
Question: Can YourPlace Housing take a photo or video recording of areas of my home that contain my personal possessions?
Answer: Yes, but only after giving you at least 7 days’ notice and with your written consent. YourPlace Housing will provide you with a consent form when advising you of a future inspection. Where possible, photos containing personal belongings will be avoided but to keep a record of the general condition of the property we may take them, and we will ask for your permission.
Question: What if I am not going to be home to give you the consent form?
Answer: If you know in advance that you won’t be home for the inspection you can leave the signed consent form on the kitchen table or another obvious place for us. Alternatively, if you use email, you can send us the signed form or write an email letting us know if you are willing to give consent or not.
